01/18/2010 - Denver, CO (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Craig Anderson made 24 saves for his fourth shutout of the season as the Colorado Avalanche took a 6-0 win over the Edmonton Oilers at Pepsi Center.

Matt Duchene finished the game with two goals and an assist while Kyle Cumiskey scored twice and John-Michael Liles had a goal and two assists for the Avalanche, who have won four straight.

"I put a lot of pressure on myself," said Duchene. "But, my personal success doensn't mean anything if the team doesn't win. Tonight everyone did a good job, it was an all-around team effort."

Jeff Deslauriers was charged with all six goals on 34 shots for the Oilers, who are mired in an eight-game skid and have dropped 15 of their last 16.

"They strive off of turnovers and we did not apply much poressure on them and it cost us," said Deslauriers. "At this point the playoffs area long shot, but we're professionals and we're going to come out every night and play hard."

Colorado got on the board at the 12:09 mark of the first period as Liles tapped the puck in just before it was going to cross the goal line after a scramble in front.

The Avs made it 2-0, 2:51 later as Wojtek Wolski's slap shot from the high slot was stopped, but Duchene was there to poke in the rebound for a power- play tally.

Colorado took a 3-0 lead 6:25 into the second as Kyle Quincey's slap shot from the high point was tipped in by Chris Stewart in front.

Cumiskey finished a give-and-go play with Paul Stastny with 1:47 to play in the second and made it a 5-0 game just 1:27 into the third with a power-play goal.

Duchene poked in the puck with a backhand down low at the 5:47 mark of the third to cap the scoring.

MySportsbook.com week 1 NFL lines

Now that the 2008 NFL schedule is finally out, it is only matter-of-course for lines on “Week 1” to follow.  Of course MySportsbook.com is the first to churn out odds for the NFL’s inaugural week for the upcoming season.   Expect a lot of fireworks the first Thursday night of the season as the defending champion Indianapolis Colts face off against the surprise of the 2008 season, the New Orleans Saints.  These teams were ranked #1 and #3 in the NFL respectively a season ago so a high scoring affair could be in order.  As of now, the Colts will be giving 6 points to the Saints; keep in mind the Saints were one of the better road teams last season going 6-3 SU and 7-2 ATS.  The first Monday night of the season will again provide a “double feature”. Coming off a disappointing season, the Cincinnati Bengals will look to get back to playoffs and improve their public image as they take on the AFC North favorite Baltimore Ravens.  The second game features a couple of teams that haven’t had too much success recently but each could make some noise if the NFC is as weak as it was last year as the San Francisco 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals. The most interesting game of the opening week will feature the NFC champion Bears as they hit the road to take on the NFL’s top team during last year’s regular season, the San Diego Chargers.
